Berks Economic Partnership (BEP) Participates in Medical Device Industry Tradeshow

Reading, PA - Mike Simmons, Director of Marketing and Research, Berks Economic Partnership, attended the annual Medical Design and Manufacturing (MDM) Tradeshow in New York City, June 8-9.

With nearly 35,000 attendees and exhibitors, Simmons worked in the Team Pennsylvania booth representing the Smart Market – a nine-county region in southcentral PA that includes Berks County.  FirstEnergy Corporation, a strategic partner in statewide economic development efforts, helped sponsor the booth.  The event was an excellent opportunity to market and promote Greater Reading and southcentral PA as a strategic location for medical device companies.

“Berks County is already home to a number of top-notch medical device and packaging companies,” Simmons said.  “We would certainly like to see more growth in that industry and support companies that consider Berks County and the Smart Market region.”

MDM East is one of the largest medical device industry events in the world and showcases the latest advances in medical materials, production, automation, packaging, and software.
