BEP Markets Greater Reading at Corporate Real Estate Event
Tuesday, May 25, 2010

Deb Heffner, Economic Development Coordinator at Berks Economic Partnership (BEP), recently attended the CoreNet Global Summit in New Orleans, Louisiana.  The event was attended by professionals in corporate, commercial, and industrial real estate from the United States and around the world.

BEP hosted a networking reception at the CoreNet summit to promote the competitive advantages of locating a business in the Greater Reading and Berks County region.  As a result of BEP’s outreach efforts, nineteen new contacts were made, thirteen existing contacts were re-established, and three potential business prospects were identified.

Heffner noted, “Site selectors are still very much interested in Greater Reading as a business location due to our proximity to major metro markets.  Establishing relationships with the people who make those corporate expansion or relocation decisions is critical.”

One of BEP’s key goals is to market Berks County and the Greater Reading area to business location decision-makers such as site selectors, corporate real estate experts,  commercial and industrial realtors, and developers.  The purpose is to attract new companies and jobs to Greater Reading in order to help sustain a vibrant and prosperous local economy.  BEP also works closely with existing companies who may have growth and expansion needs.
