Reading, PA - Berks Economic Partnership (BEP), a non-profit organization responsible for marketing the Greater Reading region for business growth and expansion, launched a new website today that was developed by local firm, Spotts, Stevens and McCoy (SSM).
The new website,
www.GreaterReading.com, was built and deployed using SSM’s licensed service,
SpotLightTM, a complete suite of services and software tools specifically designed for the demanding data needs of economic development organizations and the professionals who use their sites. The site features streamlined navigation, a state-of-the-art property and site search tool, enhanced data and research components, and social media links and downloads. A hallmark feature of the service is the
SpotLight WorkbenchTM, a user-friendly content management system that enables site administrators to edit or create new content, add videos and images, and update properties and data at the touch of a button.
Jon Scott, President and CEO of BEP, said that BEP’s
SpotLight website is designed specifically for the business and site selection community. “A lot has changed since the original site was developed over four years ago. Through
SpotLight, we have a completely customizable, data-rich website that targets existing companies, entrepreneurs, site selectors, and commercial and industrial realtors – the people who are looking to grow and expand business in Greater Reading,” Scott said. Scott mentioned that roughly 90% of site selectors conduct their business location research on-line.
BEP is the first customer to license the
SpotLight service for their web presence. SSM President, Carl Godlove, said, “We’re excited to partner with BEP and showcase their website as the first
SpotLight website in the United States. It is our goal to market our software nationally so that business location decision-makers know when they’ve landed on a
SpotLight site. The navigation and data elements will be consistent whether you’re an economic development agency in Pennsylvania or California.”
SSM unveiled the
SpotLight software and service at the joint Pennsylvania Economic Development Association/Northeastern Economic Developers Association conference in Philadelphia on September 20-22.
